Having bad credit can sometimes feel like it's some kind of communicable disease.

That's how it feels sometimes when you go into a dealership or a bank and the salesman or loan officer is so nice until you either tell them you have bad credit or they pull your credit report. That's when you get the dreaded, "Oh" response.

How to get financing for a car with bad credit?
The first option that you have is the local dealer. Dealerships usually have a few different lenders that they can go through. Some car lots have more lenders than others and some have a better chance of getting you approved, depending on the loan companies that they work with. If you've been refused car credit at local dealers, then the next option may work out better for you.
You can try local credit unions. They can provide good financing options for people that have good jobs and bad credit. If you have a checking account open with one and a good relationship with them, this may be a suitable option. Frequently local banks will not offer financing for you if you have bad credit unless you are a long time customer with a good history of working with them to resolve past due payments.
Online lending services are available. You can apply and get approved rather quickly. Simply avoid scam websites. If it looks like spam, then it probably is. These types of services offer the advantage of having access to a large network of lending partners that can increase your odds of approval dramatically.
